What we do, and what we will not do
Servicing, diagnostics, brakes, clutches, cambelts and MOT preparation — and an inspection report you can read without a mechanic translating it. Nothing gets started before you have seen a price and said yes, which is the only part of this list that really matters.
From the first symptom to work you approved
Independent, family-run, on Kiln Street since 2011. We don't start work you haven't agreed to, and we photograph what we find so you can see it for yourself.
Diagnostics
Warning light on, noise you can't place, something that only does it when it's cold — we find out what it actually is before anyone quotes you.
Servicing
Interim and full servicing with a written health check — you see every finding, with a photo, before you decide anything.
Brakes & suspension
Pads, discs, calipers, shocks and springs. Measured, photographed, and priced before we start.
Clutch & cambelt
The big jobs, done properly, with a firm price agreed in writing before the car goes on the ramp.
Air-conditioning
Regas, leak detection and repair — handled by a technician qualified to work with refrigerant.
And here's exactly what the colours mean
Every service includes a written health check. We'd rather you knew what we meant by it before you booked, not after.
- Needs attention now
- This is at or past its safe limit. We would not drive the car until it's done, and we'll tell you plainly if we think it's dangerous.
- Will need doing
- Safe to drive today, but it is wearing out and will need attention — usually within a few months. We'll tell you roughly how long you've got.
- No action needed
- Checked, measured where relevant, and fine. Nothing for you to do.
- Not checked
- We could not see or reach this without further dismantling, so we are not going to guess. If you want it checked, we'll quote you for the strip-down.
